Stiffer, Greater, Quicker, Mightier

For those who don't know, I have to tell you that I love techno. I think it comes with the territory of geekhood. One of the best techno songs I have ever heard is "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" by Daft Punk. If you frequently frequent Youtube, you may have noticed that others share my sentiment, in some rather creative ways. Today, I'm going to share with you some of the more inventive ways my fellow Youtubers have of paying homage to this song.

Honorable mention: Groovy Dancing Girl
I blame Spock for this one; all I did was listen to one innocent song, and it turned into hours on Youtube. He's good like that.

Something Tells Me I'm Into Something Good

I'm very excited for Friday, for one reason in particular. Friday is the Nationwide Equality Prom, a first-time event in which people are encouraged to wear promwear and go about their daily activities. I want to be a part of this [and I encourage you to be, as well], so I went to a local thrift store to buy a prom dress, as my old ones won't fit; I seem to have put on the Freshman 15. In order to "test drive" my dress, Spock and I wandered around town a bit on the way to the post office. I didn't enjoy the stares, but I ran into a friend and explained what the dress was all about, so I felt better about it in the end. Friday is going to be so much fun!
Today is my sister's 9th birthday. She absolutely loves the Beatles, and Sir Paul McCartney in particular, so in her honor I give you...

Scriptophilia NOS

Tomorrow, my Abnormal Psych partner and I will be presenting our amazing slideshow about paraphilias. For those of you who don't know, a paraphilia is a sexual deviance. Among the common paraphilias are pedophilia, voyeurism, and transvestism, among others. A -philia qualifies as a paraphilia when it is required for the sexual enjoyment of the individual. Our slideshow is at least 65 slides long; I have no doubt that we'll get an A. In fact, this is one of the few times that I'm not nervous the night before a presentation; I'm that confident about this.
However....

In honor of the release of the new Star Trek movie [which was actually yesterday], I present this list:

9 Hilarious Star Trek Products!
1. Star Trek Eggo Waffles

2. Spock Barbie: They also made Uhura and Kirk, but you know me; I love me some Spock!

6. The Star Trek Cookbook, by Ethan Philips et al.

Keep Those Vultures Guessing

It was a movie day at my house. First off, Spock, my dad, and I went to the theater to see Saw VI. It has become somewhat of a tradition to see certain movie series in theaters; among these are Saw, Harry Potter, and Transformers. Plus, my dad is my movie buddy; it's silly, but it's true. Back to Saw VI, though. The introductory 'game' was so nauseating, I thought I was going to have to leave the room. That's never happened before; not even at Saw. I won't describe any of the traps, in case my small but loyal following hasn't seen the movie yet. I'd assume most of you haven't, as the movie just came to theaters today.
When we got home, I put in Repo!: The Genetic Opera. My glorious friend, Faythe, introduced me to the movie, and I must say, it is a must-see. Above all, I was pleased with the casting of Sarah Brightman as Blind Mag. Brightman played Christine in the original Broadway run of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, my favorite musical of all time. I love the music from Repo!, and I will be digging through the internets looking for a soundtrack to it as soon as I finish this entry.
We also watched Casper Meets Wendy, a late '90s movie featuring a very young, squeaky-voiced Hillary Duff, and, naturally, the friendliest ghost you know. I think it was the most nauseating out of the three movies. Even sicker than watching the Repo Man removed the spine from a man he has suspended upside down.
